Driving 1250 Miles to See A Tree

hello darlings,

It’s hard to steal away the time to write while you’re on vacation, but it’s Tuesday and I made a commitment to write and see what comes of it.

I am sitting here, in the heat of the morning in Los Angeles right now. I drove 1250 miles to see a Joshua Tree. It was spectacular and emotional and humbling and all the other feels that you have when you venture out and do the thing that you want to do, instead of the things you have to do. There are times that I can’t believe this is my life. It’s a damn privilege to be alive, to travel and to see the things that you’ve dreamed of seeing.
